A. We provide a range of scaffolding services. We are happy to sell or hire you what you need. We also erect and dismantle our scaffolding. We supply both steel scaffolding (Tube & Clip and Ringlock) and aluminium scaffolding (Ringlock and Mobile Scaffolding).
A. Steel scaffolding is traditionally the most common form of scaffolding, normally in either non-proprietary systems such as tube and clip or proprietary systems such as Layher Allround/Ringlock Systems and Kwikstage. Proprietary steel scaffolding is normally rated as heavy duty (625kg per bay), the load rating for tube and clip scaffolding I reliant on the size of the bays and the putlog spacings.
Aluminium scaffolding is becoming more widely used, normally as mobile scaffolding towers as they are easy to move due to the reduced weight. Recently scaffolding manufacturers have developed proprietary systems in aluminium, such as Aluminium Ringlock and Oldfields Aluminium Kwikstage. Typically, most aluminium scaffolds are rated as light duty, however the Aluminium Ringlock system has recently been rated up to heavy duty.
A. The main benefit of aluminium is the ease of use, being significantly lighter than steel (up to 1/3 of the weight), which means lifting the equipment and erecting/dismantling the scaffold itself is less taxing on your body. The less taxing work reduces the impact on your body from lifting heavy materials. The less weight also allows you to carry more equipment, thus completing the job quicker.

A. Proprietary scaffolds have been designed by a chartered engineer as reflected in the manufacturer's specifications for the design and use of the equipment. Non-proprietary scaffolds refer to scaffolding that has not been designed by an engineer. The most common type of non-proprietary scaffolding is tube and clip, these scaffolds must be erected to the specifications under the Good Practice Guidelines.
A. This is not an easy question to answer. Due to all the differing circumstances in regard to the type of scaffolding that is suitable, we advise for you give us a ring so we can discuss your options.
A. With an abuse-free life our aluminium towers’ lifespan is 18 – 20 years, our fibreglass towers’ lifespan is 10 – 12 years. We provide a 1 year warranty on all our products across the board, subject to fair use. On top of that we provide a lifetime warranty on the TIG welds on all our Aluminium frames.
A. Our fibreglass mobile scaffolding towers are fully inert and therefore do not conduct electricity at all.
A. Yes, all our scaffolding has been tested and rated to their appropriate levels. Furthermore, all scaffolding we supply in packages (e.g. mobile scaffolding towers) are fully compliant to the current standard.
A. Yes, we are happy to show you how to erect and dismantle to products you purchase from us. Furthermore, you can always get a few extra pieces from us if you want to top up your purchase. We also hire most of the products we sell, so if you only need these extra components for a short period we can find a solution.
A. Very easy, our 2600 Series has been designed to be simple for any person to assemble. Even if you do get stuck, all our frames have instructions and diagrams attached.
A. Yes, all our scaffolders either hold a current certificate of competency or are enrolled with Tai Poutini Polytechnic. Among our scaffolders, the most common qualifications is a National Certificate in Advanced Scaffolding.
A. I need custom scaffolding; can you help with that?
A. Yes, we are happy to dry-hire equipment to you, however you must be aware that unless you hold a current Certificate of Competence you can only erect a scaffold up to 4.0m in height.
A. No, you will be provided with our transport fees once we have completed a quote.
A. When assessing a site our representatives will look for anything hazardous to our workers, such as power lines, exposed cables or hazardous materials (e.g. asbestos). Although we do inspect sites for hazards, it is your responsibility to notify us of any hazards that you are aware of.

A. For sales, we receive payment and then issue a GST invoice. For hire, we take a credit card for security for new clients, the first invoice will be issued at the end of the month or end of contract, Our credit card is then charged unless we have made a prior agreement. A. Roof edge protection ensures that when working on a roof you are protected from falling. If the pitch of the roof is less than 25 degrees it is acceptable to have 3 handrails (foot, knee and hip levels) to provide roof edge protection. If the pitch of the roof is 25 degrees or more a fully decked platform must be within 500mm beneath the edge.

A. We recommend you wear a safety harness at all heights. Our staff are instructed to put on their safety harness the moment they leave the ground.
A. Once the scaffold has been signed off by us, then the client who hired us is responsible for the equipment. We will inspect the scaffold weekly as required by the Good Practice Guidelines.
A. As a minimum our scaffolders wear a fall arrest harness, hard hat, safety boots and high visibility clothing. We also provide our staff with gloves, ear protections and safety glasses for use when required. If any additional safety equipment is required for your site let us know.
A. Minimum distance of 4.0m is permitted for a scaffold near exposed powerlines. If you require a scaffold closer than 4.0m to powerlines they must be professionally sleeved.
A. Whatever distance you want, however if you do not want handrails and kickboards on the inside, the maximum permissible distance is 300mm from the working face. Q) What height do the guardrails need to be? The minimum height for handrails is 900mm and maximum height is 1100mm, with a mid-rail at half that distance to the platform. Generally these measurements are at hip and knee height.
